Calvert L. Bowen, III ("Triiip")
President and Chief Executive Officer Triiip Bowen is a 1983 Wilde Lake High School and 1987 US Military Academy (West Point) graduate. In July 2013, he retired from the US Army after 26 years of service. He is a DESERT STORM veteran with other tours in Kentucky, Germany, Kansas, Georgia, Hawaii, Virginia, and Maryland. Triiip currently works at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory as a Cyber Systems Engineer and Program Manager. Triiip serves on the Howard County Public School Cyber Security Advisory Board. In 2014 and 2015, he taught the course, "Ethics and Social Issues in Information Technology" at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Triiip presents at the annual Howard County Military Night representing West Point and answers questions about military service for interested high school students and their parents. |
Rosalie A. Bowen
Chief Operating Officer and Scholarship Committee Chair Rosalie Bowen is a 1960 Western High School and 1964 University of Maryland, College Park graduate. In July 2014, she retired from the Howard County Public School System after 50 years of service in Education. For 46+ of those years, Rosalie was a teacher and administrator in nine schools, seven of which are Howard County's high schools:

Triiip and Rosalie have both served as US Military Academy (West Point) Field Force Representatives for several years assisting the Admissions Department in interviewing and assessing candidates for appointment to the Military Academy.
Janet C. Bowen
Treasurer and Communications Director
Janet Bowen is a 1982 graduate of Serramonte High School in Daly City, California and a 1987 graduate of UCLA. She is a member of the Chi Omega sorority (Gamma Beta pledge chapter).
While moving around the country as a military spouse, Janet has held several roles in UCLA Alumni Chapters and Chi Omega Collegiate Chapters. Janet served on the UCLA Bruin Club of Honolulu's Scholarship Committee identifying the most deserving UCLA-bound high school graduates from the state of Hawaii. She has also served as a Collegiate Chapter Advisor for Chi Omega chapters at Kansas State University, George Mason University, and Virginia Tech. Currently, Janet serves as a Recruitment Volunteer for Chi Omega candidates in the state of Maryland.
Janet has also held several educational positions - both paid and volunteer - across the country. 1998-2001 Janet worked in support of a Fairfax County, Virginia program for adults seeking additional life skills and the GED. 2003-2004, she served as a volunteer classroom assistant at St. Elizabeth's Elementary School in Aiea, Hawaii, and was a tutor/advisor for at-risk middle school students in support of a University of Hawaii program. 2008-2011, Janet was an instructor at Howard Community College's CORE program working with adults with disabilities needing assistance with life skills. Since 2009, Janet has been a substitute teacher in Howard County high schools, primarily in the Academic/Life Skills (ALS) programs. Most recently, 2012-2014, she has completed two long-term substitute positions in the ALS program and served as the Advanced Placement Testing Coordinator at Oakland Mills High School.

Vincent K. James
Vincent James is currently a resource teacher for the Gifted and Talented Program at Oakland Mills High School, located in Columbia, Maryland. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley. He has completed graduate and certification studies at East Bay State University (formerly Cal State Hayward), Howard University, Washington, D. C., Loyola, Notre Dame, and McDaniels Colleges of Maryland. His education focus is in education and educational leadership. Vincent has been teaching for 31 years. He has spent the last 25 years in Howard County, Maryland. His teaching experience spans from early childhood to adult education.
Vincent has conceived and directed two mentoring programs in Maryland. One called the Puma Pals where middle school students worked with elementary students to develop both academic and social skills. The other, The Alpha Achievers, partnered with the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, is an honors program for young men of color. It was founded and developed in Howard County, Maryland in 1997 to promote academic excellence among young high school boys of color. The program began with about 16 boys at Oakland Mills High School. It now averages about 70 young men at Oakland Mills and has a chapter in all 12 high schools in Howard County. The Alpha Achievers program has been featured in the Washington Post and Baltimore Sun.
Vincent is the father of two daughters and has two grandchildren. He was nominated in 1998 for Maryland Teacher of the Year and was awarded the Washington Post Agnes Meyer Teacher of the Year in 1999. He retired from the Howard County Public School System in 2015.
